Who are we, anyway?

Ballast Hospitality was founded in Charleston, SC in 2015 by managing partners and spouses Clint and Kristen Gaskins. Although a relatively young company, its roots extend beyond 2015, to another hospitality management company formed in 2010, Sea Island Food Group.

Under the leadership of the Gaskins, Sea Island Food Group was successful in operating a retail food and beverage outlet, an onsite catering operation, an event equipment rental company, and a high end event tabletop rental company.

Sea Island Food Group began to migrate its companies and operations to Ballast Hospitality in the Summer 2015, following the opening of their operations in the USVI and an increased focus on fee-based hospitality management.

Ballast Hospitality currently employees and contracts 130+ individuals between our South Carolina and USVI operations.
